What you think is the point behind the Avatar marketing is?
I think the primary focus and goal behind AVATAR's marketing is the directors previous directorial efforts, which for James Cameron are an extremely powerful tool. With names such as True Lies, Titanic and Terminator films under his belt, the pressure he builds on himself and his reputation to produce something of that calibur is immense. The point of this is to give the film the highest possible reception once release, through word of mouth. Even if people don't remember James' name the films listed above are enough to garner mass interest as 'That guy who did Titanic!' emphasising the overscaled budget of between 300 - 400 million pounds and animation times of 2,400 hours per second to make people believe if so mcuh effort has gone iinto somethingm then it must be fairly epic.
